- Supports full modem and flow-control signals (RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD)

RS232 to USB Conversion Architecture:
The GSAS USB2SERIAL module uses a dual-stage conversion architecture. Incoming RS-232 signals, typically ranging from ±3 V to ±15 V, are first level-shifted to standard 0–5 V TTL logic using MAX232 transceivers.
These TTL signals are then processed by the FT232R USB bridge IC, which converts UART data into USB 2.0 format for communication with modern host systems.
The design maintains full RS-232 functionality, supporting data signals (TXD/RXD) and modem-control lines (RTS#/CTS#, DTR#/DSR#, DCD#, RI#), ensuring reliable operation across a wide range of industrial and embedded applications.
Applications:
- Industrial automation and control systems
- Serial-based test and measurement equipment
- Legacy equipment interfacing
- Embedded systems requiring RS-232 communication
- Diagnostics, programming tools, and instrumentation
