The Microtest 7631HD Hipot Tester combines 16-channel safety testing with built-in DC resistance measurement, delivering AC withstand voltage up to 5000 V, DC withstand up to 6000 V, insulation resistance up to 12 GΩ, and DCR measurement from 10 mΩ to 100 KΩ in a single instrument. The “HD” designation reflects the doubled channel count (16 vs. 8 on the standard 7631) and the integrated DCR function that eliminates the need for a separate resistance meter in the test workflow.

Integrated DCR Measurement

The built-in DCR function measures winding resistance from 10 mΩ to 100 KΩ across all 16 channels, verifying copper continuity, crimp integrity, and correct wire gauge without removing the DUT from the safety test fixture. DCR measurement is essential for detecting open circuits, high-resistance solder joints, cold crimps, and incorrect wire gauge, defects that hipot testing alone cannot identify.
