About Microtest 7759 Impulse Winding Tester (Multi-Channel)
The Microtest 7759 Impulse Winding Tester delivers multi-channel turn-to-turn insulation verification with 8+1 channels, covering impulse voltage from 100 V to 5200 V at a 200 MHz / 9-bit sampling rate. With 6 comparison modes and test speeds up to 10 tests per second, the 7759 is designed for production-line testing of multi-phase motors, multi-winding transformers, and coil assemblies where every winding must be surge-tested without manual reconnection.

8+1 Channel Architecture
The 8+1 channel configuration provides 8 switchable test channels plus 1 dedicated reference channel. The internal scanner routes impulse test voltage to each winding in sequence, capturing the damped oscillation response and comparing it against stored reference waveforms. This eliminates the manual reconnection required with single-channel impulse testers, reducing test cycle time for multi-winding DUTs from minutes to seconds.
Six Comparison Algorithms
The 7759 offers 6 comparison algorithms for comprehensive fault coverage. Area comparison detects gross defects and major shorted turns. Differential area analysis catches subtle single-turn faults that shift the waveform envelope. Flutter analysis identifies intermittent contacts from marginal insulation. Corona detection distinguishes partial discharge from full breakdown. Laplacian comparison enhances detection of waveform shape changes, and zero-cross analysis monitors oscillation frequency shifts caused by inductance changes from shorted turns. Engineers can enable multiple algorithms simultaneously, with independent pass/fail thresholds per algorithm per channel.
Applications
Multi-phase motor manufacturers, multi-winding transformer producers, automotive ignition coil winding facilities, and solenoid assemblers deploy the 7759 for 100% production-line surge testing. The multi-channel architecture is particularly valuable for 3-phase motor stator testing where all phase windings must be surge-tested in a single fixture cycle, and for multi-tap transformer testing where every winding pair requires individual verification.
GSAS Micro Systems delivers the Microtest 7759 Impulse Winding Tester to motor and transformer manufacturers across India with INR invoicing and local application support. Engineers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi NCR assist with channel configuration, reference waveform setup, and pass/fail criteria definition.
