Xeltek × GSAS

Xeltek (Sunnyvale, California, USA, founded 1985) develops universal device programmers for out-of-circuit socket programming, the broadest IC device range in the industry with over 146,000 supported devices spanning flash memory, EEPROM, microcontrollers, CPLD, FPGA configuration, eMMC, and programmable logic from hundreds of semiconductor manufacturers. Unlike in-circuit (ISP) programmers that flash devices on-board, Xeltek SuperPro programmers program ICs off-board in universal sockets, ideal for pre-programming before SMT, reworking legacy devices, and production runs where ICs are handled individually.

GSAS has been India's authorized Xeltek partner since 2014, with OEM support at CEO level. We provide programmer and adapter supply, device support verification, and production line configuration guidance from six offices, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Pune. GSAS offers both out-of-circuit socket programming (Xeltek) and in-circuit on-board programming (SEGGER Flasher), the right tool for every production workflow.

Out-of-Circuit vs In-Circuit Programming

When to Use Each Approach

Out-of-circuit (socket) programming, ICs are removed from packaging and placed in a universal socket for programming before board assembly. Ideal for pre-programming ICs before SMT placement, reworking or reprogramming legacy devices, programming bare ICs for inventory or kitting, and production runs where ICs are handled individually. Xeltek SuperPro programmers serve this workflow.

In-circuit (on-board) programming, ICs are programmed after board assembly via debug/programming headers (JTAG, SWD, SPI). Ideal for programming assembled PCBs on the production line, field firmware updates, and devices that cannot be socketed. SEGGER Flasher programmers serve this workflow.

GSAS offers both approaches, SEGGER Flasher for in-circuit and Xeltek SuperPro for out-of-circuit, so teams can select the right tool for their production process.

Legacy Device Support

20+ Year Product Lifecycle Support

The SuperPro device library includes UV-erasable EPROMs, PALs, GALs, and older flash families that remain in active production for aerospace, defense, industrial, and medical applications. Over 1,500 socket adapters covering every package type ensure new devices are accommodated by adding an adapter, not replacing the programmer. Organizations maintaining legacy systems, performing failure analysis, or manufacturing long-lifecycle products rely on Xeltek's continued support for devices other vendors have deprecated.
