Overview
About BQR CARE
BQR CARE (Computer Aided Reliability Engineering) is a system-level RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) platform that unifies FMEA, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), reliability allocation, Monte Carlo simulation, and testability analysis into a single, traceable environment. CARE eliminates the fragmented multi-tool workflows common in reliability engineering by maintaining a shared data model across all analysis types — a failure mode defined in FMEA propagates automatically into the fault tree and RBD without manual re-entry.
Analysis Modules
| Module | Capability | Standards |
|---|---|---|
| FMEA / FMECA | Failure mode identification, criticality ranking, risk matrices | MIL-STD-1629A, IEC 60812, SAE J1739, ARP 5580 |
| Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) | Top-down deductive analysis, cut-sets, common cause failures | MIL-STD-882E, IEC 61025 |
| Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) | Mission reliability with redundancies, maintenance, repair policies | IEC 61078 |
| Testability Analysis | Detection and diagnostic coverage evaluation | — |
| Reliability Allocation | Apportionment of system reliability targets to subsystems | — |
| Monte Carlo Simulation | Statistical reliability and availability prediction | — |
CARE computes reliability, availability, and safety KPIs with auditable models and reports. The FMEA/FMECA module supports customizable risk matrices for hardware FMEA (ARP 5580), process FMEA, and FMECA with criticality ranking per MIL-STD-1629A. Fault Tree Analysis provides safety-related calculation of event probability and safety function unavailability, including minimal cut-set computation and common cause failure modeling. Reliability Block Diagrams calculate mission reliability accounting for redundancies, periodic maintenance, and repair policies.
Users can import assemblies, parts, and failure data from BQR’s FiXtress MTBF prediction tool or from Excel/CSV files, then define environments, failure distributions, and repair policies to compute system-level KPIs. This integration with FiXtress creates a complete reliability workflow: component-level MTBF prediction in FiXtress feeds system-level FMEA, FTA, and RBD analysis in CARE, producing a unified reliability case from component to system.
Aerospace, defense, railway, automotive, energy, and medical device organizations requiring certification evidence for ISO 26262, IEC 61508, DO-178C/DO-254, EN 50129, and MIL-STD-882E use CARE to construct quantitative safety cases.
