Visakhapatnam is a principal industrial and defence metro of coastal Andhra Pradesh and the eastern seaboard. The Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ) at Pragati Maidan near Nadupuru is an integrated medical device manufacturing cluster, hosting many medtech companies spanning diagnostic imaging, IVD, ICU electronics, and medical device R&D. Visakhapatnam is a major naval and maritime industries hub, concentrating naval electronics, sonar, combat-systems, shipbuilding, and shipboard instrumentation demand across the region.
