Bengaluru anchors a major embedded and semiconductor engineering cluster in India. The city hosts global semiconductor R&D centres, including operations from Intel, Arm, and Bosch, concentrated across Electronic City, Whitefield, ITPL, Manyata Tech Park, and Outer Ring Road. The Karnataka government's ESDM policy, administered through KIADB and Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, supports semiconductor design, VLSI, and embedded systems growth across Peenya, Bommasandra, and Hebbal industrial zones. Indian Institute of Science (IISc), IIIT-Bangalore, and the PES/RV/BMS engineering cluster supply design talent, while government aerospace R&D laboratories and defence PSUs concentrate aerospace electronics demand around Vimanapura and the old airport road corridor.
