About CMSIS-DAP 2.0 Debugger

The Elprotronic CMSIS-DAP 2.0 Debugger is a galvanically isolated Arm debug probe based on the XStream-Iso platform, compatible with any CMSIS-DAP 2.0 capable IDE. Supporting both JTAG and SWD protocols with a programmable communication clock up to 20 MHz, the debugger delivers effective throughput up to 1 MB/s for flash download and memory access operations. SWO trace output at up to 12.5 Mbit/s with a 32 kB overflow buffer enables real-time ITM printf debugging and event tracing without impacting target execution.

The 2.5 kV galvanic isolation between the host PC and target board is essential for debugging motor control, power electronics, and industrial systems where the target operates at elevated voltages or where ground potential differences between the PC and target would damage unprotected debug probes. The XStream-Iso platform provides customizable target Vcc from 1.7 V to 4.0 V and can supply up to 200 mA to power small target boards directly from the debugger.

CMSIS-DAP 2.0 compliance ensures compatibility with Keil MDK, IAR Embedded Workbench, and other standard Arm development environments without requiring proprietary drivers. The included Arm 14-pin to 20-pin and 10-pin adapters cover all common debug header configurations. For teams already using Elprotronic XStreamPro-Iso or XStream-Iso programmers for production, the same hardware serves double duty as a CMSIS-DAP debug probe during development, eliminating the need for a separate debug adapter.

GSAS Micro Systems provides Elprotronic debug probes with applications guidance for isolated debugging scenarios, IDE configuration support, and integration with Elprotronic programming workflows for Indian embedded development teams.
