Overview
About Microtest 6630 Series LCR Meter
The Microtest 6630 Series is a high-frequency precision LCR meter delivering 0.05% basic accuracy across a frequency range of 10 Hz to 50 MHz for comprehensive impedance characterization of passive components, PCB structures, and materials. Available in multiple models with maximum frequencies of 1 MHz, 3 MHz, 5 MHz, 10 MHz, 20 MHz, 30 MHz, and 50 MHz, the 6630 Series scales from standard component testing to high-frequency RF inductor and capacitor characterization. Ultra-fast 3 ms measurement speed makes the 6630 an excellent choice for automated production line testing.

Automatic Level Control (ALC) maintains constant test signal amplitude at the DUT terminals regardless of impedance changes, ensuring consistent measurement conditions across the full frequency range. Switchable 25 ohm and 100 ohm output impedance options optimize measurement accuracy for different component types. Open circuit, short circuit, and load correction functions compensate for fixture parasitics, and BIN classification with comparator functions support automated component grading on production lines.
The extended frequency range up to 50 MHz enables characterization of high-frequency inductors, RF capacitors, EMI filter components, and PCB parasitic impedance at operating frequencies — measurements that lower-frequency LCR meters cannot perform. List sweep mode executes multi-frequency measurement sequences in a single pass, generating impedance-vs-frequency profiles for resonance detection and component modeling.
