The REYAX RYS8830 is a multi-constellation GNSS module built on the Sony CXD5605AGF navigation engine, providing concurrent GPS, BeiDou, and GLONASS reception for fast, accurate positioning. With 1-meter CEP accuracy, -161 dBm tracking sensitivity, and a 1-second hot start time, the RYS8830 delivers rapid position fixes even in challenging signal environments. The compact 11x11x2.2 mm SMD form factor with an embedded antenna makes the module suitable for space-constrained designs in automotive, fleet management, and asset tracking applications.

RYS8830 GNSS module, Sony CXD5605AGF multi-constellation receiver

The Sony CXD5605AGF engine provides multi-constellation concurrent reception, using signals from GPS, BeiDou, and GLONASS simultaneously to maximize satellite visibility and reduce time-to-first-fix in urban canyons, dense foliage, and other signal-impaired environments. The 8 Mbit onboard flash stores ephemeris data for rapid hot-start positioning. Dual communication interfaces — UART at 115200 bps and I2C at 400 kHz — provide flexible host connectivity for both microcontroller-based and processor-based system architectures.

Automotive telematics, fleet tracking and management systems, vehicle navigation, asset monitoring, personal tracking devices, and drone navigation applications rely on the RYS8830 for accurate, low-power GNSS positioning. The module’s low tracking current (9-13 mA) extends battery life in portable and intermittently powered applications. At just 0.43 g and 121 mm2, the RYS8830 fits into compact wearable and IoT enclosures where board space is at a premium.
