About emVNC

SEGGER emVNC is a VNC server implementation designed for embedded systems that enables remote graphical access to an embedded device’s display from any standard VNC client running on Windows, Linux, or macOS. Engineers, technicians, and end users can view and interact with the device’s GUI remotely, invaluable for headless systems, equipment installed in inaccessible locations, remote diagnostics, and development workflows where the target hardware sits on a lab bench while the developer works from a desktop.
Connectivity and Integration
emVNC supports remote access over both Ethernet and USB connections, providing flexibility in how the embedded device is reached. When used over USB, the connection uses SEGGER’s IP-over-USB technology, making it possible to access the device GUI even when no network infrastructure is available, simply connect a USB cable and launch a VNC client. The server integrates with SEGGER emWin for GUI rendering, meaning any interface built with emWin is automatically accessible via VNC without additional application code.

emVNC is free for non-commercial use and free for commercial use when deployed on devices with licensed SEGGER partner hardware. For other commercial deployments, SEGGER offers royalty-free licensing with a one-time payment. This flexible model allows evaluation teams to begin integration immediately and transition to a production licence when the product ships.
