About ULINKpro D
The ULINKpro D is the debug-focused variant of the ULINKpro: same fast JTAG (up to 50 MHz) and same high-throughput SWV (up to 100 Mbit/s in Manchester-encoded mode) as ULINKpro, without the 4-bit parallel ETM trace hardware that ULINKpro adds. The “D” is for “debug”, full run-control and high-bandwidth data trace, but no instruction trace. Arm’s own Keil ULINKpro specification list puts it the same way: “The ULINKpro D Debug Unit has the same high debug performance, but does not support ETM Instruction Trace.”
This makes ULINKpro D the right choice for teams that need ULINKpro-class run-control speed for large Cortex-M firmware images and want high-throughput SWV data trace, but do not need cycle-accurate instruction trace, code coverage, or execution profiling. For all of those, use ULINKpro.
