About AutoPi CAN-FD Pro

The AutoPi CAN-FD Pro is a high-performance dual CAN/CAN-FD data logger built on the Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core Cortex-A72 (Raspberry Pi CM4) with 4 GB LPDDR4 and 32 GB eMMC. Its two CAN-FD interfaces capture over 3,000 frames per second at up to 5 Mbps with integrated DBC file support for automatic signal decoding, covering modern vehicle architectures where CAN-FD carries ADAS sensor data, battery management telemetry, and domain controller communications that exceed classic CAN’s 1 Mbps ceiling.

CloudAutoPi Cloud (OTA, fleet management)

Built on the same open Linux platform as the TMU CM4, the CAN-FD Pro provides full AutoPi Cloud integration for fleet management, OTA updates, and remote configuration, while the local edge computing environment supports custom data processing pipelines in Python or C. Engineers working with next-generation automotive ECUs, electric vehicle battery management systems, and ADAS development benefit from native CAN-FD frame capture without protocol translation overhead, enabling accurate timestamping and high-fidelity data logging for development and validation workflows.

The transition from classic CAN to CAN-FD is accelerating across the automotive industry, driven by the bandwidth demands of ADAS sensors, electrification, and centralized vehicle architectures. The CAN-FD Pro’s native support for both CAN-FD and legacy CAN 2.0 means a single device handles mixed-bus vehicles during this transition period, without requiring separate tools for each bus type. This is particularly valuable for EV development teams monitoring high-speed battery management telemetry alongside legacy body control and chassis CAN buses in the same vehicle.
