About Analog Discovery Pro ADP2440

The Digilent Analog Discovery Pro ADP2440 is a 4-channel, 12-bit mixed-signal USB oscilloscope built for engineers who prioritize resolution and amplitude accuracy in their measurements. Part of the new ADP 2400 Series from Digilent (an NI/Emerson company), the ADP2440 combines four BNC-connected analog inputs at 100 MHz bandwidth and 600 MS/s shared sampling with 16 bidirectional digital I/O channels, a 14-bit arbitrary waveform generator, and protocol analysis — all in a compact metal enclosure with USB 3.2 connectivity. Launched in March 2026, it slots between the entry-level ADP2230 and the Ethernet-enabled ADP3450 in Digilent’s Analog Discovery Pro family.

The 12-bit ADC resolution is the defining characteristic of the ADP2440. Where 8-bit oscilloscopes divide the input range into 256 levels, the ADP2440’s 12-bit front end provides 4,096 levels — delivering 16x finer amplitude resolution that reveals signal details invisible to lower-resolution instruments. Ten hardware-selectable input ranges from +/-25 mV to +/-25 V (with +/-5 V at 50 ohm impedance) allow the ADC to operate near full scale at each voltage level, maximizing usable dynamic range across diverse measurement scenarios.

Deep Memory and Segmented Capture

The ADP2440 provides hundreds of millions of samples of deep buffer memory that can be freely allocated between the analog and digital subsystems. Memory segmentation with approximately 1 microsecond re-arm latency enables rapid repeated captures — essential for isolating intermittent events, protocol violations, and rare glitches that shorter-memory instruments miss entirely. USB 3.2 data streaming at 5 Gbps keeps the instrument responsive during long acquisitions.

Dual Mode: 8-Channel Expansion

Two ADP2400 Series devices can synchronize via the rear-panel BNC trigger connectors with automatic phase alignment, creating an 8 analog channel, 32 digital I/O measurement system with coordinated triggering. This scales the ADP2440 into applications — multi-rail power sequencing analysis, multi-board system debug — that traditionally require significantly more expensive multichannel benchtop oscilloscopes.

Kit Contents

The ADP2440 Product Kit (PN 410-436-1) ships with four T2200 200 MHz x1/x10 oscilloscope probes, a 2x10 keyed flywire MTE cable, 20 minigrabbers with leads, a 2-meter USB 3.2 Type-C cable, and a 5 V/4 A switching power supply with US and EU adapters. DIN rail and wall/panel mounting kits are available separately for permanent installations.
