About Analog Discovery Pro ADP2450

The Digilent Analog Discovery Pro ADP2450 is a 4-channel, 200 MHz bandwidth USB mixed-signal oscilloscope engineered for engineers who need high-speed signal capture and fast edge characterization. Part of the new ADP 2400 Series from Digilent (an NI/Emerson company), the ADP2450 delivers 8-bit resolution at up to 1 GS/s shared sampling across four BNC-connected analog inputs, combined with 16 bidirectional digital I/O channels, a 14-bit arbitrary waveform generator, and protocol analysis tools — all in the same compact metal enclosure and USB 3.2 interface as its sibling, the ADP2440. Launched in March 2026, it targets applications where bandwidth and timing accuracy take priority over amplitude resolution.

The 200 MHz bandwidth and 1 GS/s maximum sample rate are the defining characteristics of the ADP2450. Double the bandwidth and nearly double the sampling speed of the ADP2440, the ADP2450 captures fast digital edges, high-frequency clock signals, and wideband analog signals with the fidelity needed to characterize rise times, overshoot, and signal integrity in high-speed designs. Ten hardware-selectable input ranges from +/-25 mV to +/-25 V ensure the 8-bit ADC operates at maximum effective resolution across the full voltage span.

Bandwidth for High-Speed Debug

At 200 MHz bandwidth, the ADP2450 captures the third and fifth harmonics of signals up to 40 MHz fundamental — critical for accurate representation of digital waveform edges in embedded systems operating at SPI clock speeds of 50+ MHz, high-speed UART, and clock distribution networks. The 1 GS/s sampling rate provides 5 samples per cycle at 200 MHz, sufficient for reliable waveform reconstruction and accurate timing measurements.

Dual Mode: 8-Channel Expansion

Two ADP2400 Series devices synchronize via rear-panel BNC trigger connectors with automatic phase alignment, creating an 8 analog channel, 32 digital I/O measurement system with coordinated triggering. This extends the ADP2450 into multi-channel timing analysis, power sequencing validation, and multi-board system integration testing scenarios that traditionally require expensive multichannel benchtop scopes.

Kit Contents

The ADP2450 Product Kit (PN 410-436) ships with four T2200 200 MHz x1/x10 oscilloscope probes, a 2x10 keyed flywire MTE cable, 20 minigrabbers with leads, a 2-meter USB 3.2 Type-C cable, and a 5 V/4 A switching power supply with US and EU adapters. DIN rail and wall/panel mounting kits are available separately for permanent installations.
