About Analog Discovery Pro ADP2230

The Digilent Analog Discovery Pro ADP2230 is a professional-grade mixed-signal USB instrument that combines a 2-channel 14-bit oscilloscope, 16-channel logic analyzer, arbitrary waveform generator, and dual programmable power supplies in an aluminum-enclosed, BNC-connected form factor designed for bench and field use. As the step-up from the pocket-sized Analog Discovery 3, the ADP2230 delivers higher channel memory depth, BNC connectors for standard probe compatibility, and USB 3.0 throughput — targeting professional engineers who need Discovery-class versatility with benchtop-grade signal integrity.

The BNC connectors accept standard oscilloscope probes, eliminating the adapter cables needed with smaller Discovery instruments and providing the shielded signal path that professional measurements demand. The 64 MS per-channel buffer (expandable to 128 MS) captures long acquisition windows at full sample rate — essential for debugging intermittent events, protocol violations, and timing-sensitive interactions that shorter buffers miss. Dual programmable power supplies (up to 1 A per channel) can power target circuits directly, reducing bench clutter.

WaveForms software (Windows, macOS, Linux) provides virtual instrument panels for all measurement modes — oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, waveform generator, protocol analyzer, voltmeter, and data logger — with a scripting interface for automated test sequences. The combination of analog and digital measurement on a single synchronized timebase makes the ADP2230 particularly effective for mixed-signal debugging where correlating analog waveforms with digital bus activity reveals issues invisible to single-domain instruments.
