Overview
About Genesys ZU
The Digilent Genesys ZU is the flagship Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC development platform, available in two variants: the 3EG (154K logic cells, 360 DSP slices) and the 5EV (256K logic cells, 1,248 DSP slices with H.264/H.265 video codec). Both variants pair a quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 application processor at up to 1.5 GHz with a dual-core Arm Cortex-R5 real-time processor at 600 MHz and a Mali-400 MP2 GPU, backed by 4 GB DDR4 memory — delivering the heterogeneous compute architecture needed for embedded Linux, real-time control, and video processing on a single SoC.

The 5EV variant adds a hardened H.264/H.265 video codec unit, HDMI source and sink, dual MIPI camera connectors, 10G SFP+ Ethernet, and an FMC Gigabit connector — making it the natural choice for embedded vision, video streaming, and high-bandwidth acquisition systems. Both variants include on-board 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, dual mini PCIe slots, and a SYZYGY Zmod port for analog expansion modules.
For teams developing embedded Linux platforms, real-time industrial controllers, software-defined radio systems, or multi-camera vision pipelines on Zynq UltraScale+, the Genesys ZU provides the complete development environment without requiring custom carrier board design. GSAS Micro Systems provides the Genesys ZU with variant selection guidance, FMC and Zmod module pairing, and Petalinux/Vitis integration support for advanced SoC development projects across India.
