Flasher Isolators provide galvanic isolation between SEGGER Flasher programmers and production target hardware, protecting programming equipment from ground potential differences and voltage spikes encountered in manufacturing environments. In production lines programming automotive ECUs, motor control boards, power electronics modules, and industrial controllers, the target under test often operates at a different ground reference than the programming station, creating ground loops that can damage the programmer, corrupt firmware transfers, or cause intermittent programming failures that reduce yield.

Isolation for Production Reliability

Production programming failures are costly, each failed unit requires reprogramming, inspection, and potential rework, directly impacting throughput and per-unit cost. When ground loops or voltage transients are the root cause, failures appear intermittent and difficult to diagnose, wasting engineering time on what is fundamentally an electrical isolation problem. The Flasher Isolator eliminates this class of failure by inserting a galvanic isolation barrier of up to 1 kV between the Flasher and the target, allowing the programmer and target to operate on independent ground references without interference.

The isolator passes JTAG and SWD signals transparently at full programming speed, requiring no configuration changes to the Flasher or the production workflow. It connects inline between the Flasher output and the target fixture using standard connectors, making it a drop-in addition to existing production setups.
