About Arm Energy Probe

Arm Energy Probe

For new Cortex-M projects, start with ULINKplus, not Energy Probe. Per Arm Streamline documentation, “Power profiling is a deprecated feature, and is being removed from Streamline in a future version.” ULINKplus integrates current measurement directly into the Keil MDK workflow and is the supported path going forward. Energy Probe remains available from GSAS for teams already standardised on it; new evaluations should default to ULINKplus.

The Arm Energy Probe is a 3-channel power measurement device for energy profiling of Arm-based systems. It measures current, voltage, and power across three independent channels simultaneously, enabling engineers to profile power rails for CPU core, peripherals, and I/O subsystems in a single capture session. The measurement data integrates with Arm Development Studio’s Streamline performance analyzer, correlating power consumption with software execution, showing which functions, interrupt handlers, and sleep transitions drive energy consumption on the target.

Why GSAS for Arm Energy Probe

GSAS provides Arm Energy Probe units in India with manufacturer warranty and local support, with the explicit caveat above about Arm’s Streamline power-profiling deprecation. Teams evaluating power-profiling tooling today should ask GSAS about the migration path: for Cortex-M development, the ULINKplus integrates current measurement directly into the Keil MDK workflow without depending on the deprecated Streamline feature.
