About GDS-2000E Series
The GW Instek GDS-2000E Series is a mid-range digital storage oscilloscope that pairs Visual Persistence Oscilloscope (VPO) display technology with up to 1 GSa/s real-time sampling, 10 Mpts of memory per channel and a 120,000 waveforms-per-second update rate. Available as a 2-channel or 4-channel benchtop oscilloscope at 70, 100 or 200 MHz, it gives R&D, education, QA and maintenance teams a fast, deep-memory bench instrument with serial bus decode, up to 1M-point FFT and a clear 8-inch display.

A deep-memory digital storage oscilloscope with VPO display
The VPO display renders waveform intensity in proportion to how often a signal occurs, so jitter, runt pulses and intermittent glitches become visible without special trigger setups. The 120,000 wfm/s update rate keeps the screen responsive on random and fast-changing signals, while the standard 10 Mpts long memory (selectable 1K, 10K, 100K, 1M or 10M) lets you capture long acquisitions without losing timing detail. Waveform search and segmented memory: divisible into up to 29,000 sections: let you skip dead time and jump straight to the events that matter. The minimum 1 mV/div vertical range resolves small signals on the 8-inch 800×480 WVGA TFT LCD.
2-channel and 4-channel benchtop oscilloscope models
The series ships in six models across three bandwidths. Two-channel models include an external trigger (EXT) input; four-channel models give you four simultaneous analog inputs.

All six models share the same 1 GSa/s sampling, 10 Mpts memory, 120,000 wfm/s VPO display and feature set; only the bandwidth and channel count differ. GSAS helps you select the bandwidth and channel count that match your fastest signal and the number of nodes you need to view at once.
Serial bus trigger and decode: I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN
Built-in serial bus trigger and decoding covers the I2C, SPI and UART buses common in embedded systems, plus the CAN and LIN buses used in automotive communications. The digital filter function lets you set an independent high-pass or low-pass frequency per channel, handy for isolating a band of interest or filtering magnetic noise out of power-supply measurements. Together these make the GDS-2000E well suited to serial-bus design and debugging without reaching for external post-processing tools.

36 automatic measurements and 1M-point FFT analysis
The GDS-2000E provides 36 automatic measurement items: amplitude, frequency, period, rise/fall time, pulse width, duty cycle, overshoot, phase and more, with a statistics function that reports maximum, minimum, mean and standard deviation so you can quantify variation over many acquisitions. For frequency-domain work, the 1M-point FFT delivers fine frequency resolution for analyzing switching noise, clock harmonics and power-supply ripple, with Window Zoom and Peak Search to home in on spectral components. A built-in 6-digit counter and full cursor set round out everyday bench measurements.
