About Microtest 7640 Hipot Tester (Single Channel)
The Microtest 7640 is a single-channel safety tester that integrates three tests in one instrument: AC withstand voltage, DC withstand voltage, and insulation resistance. It is the single-channel member of the 7640 and 7641 family, aimed at benches and production lines that need dielectric strength and insulation resistance testing without multi-channel scanning.

Where the 7640 Fits
The 7640 covers the same three-test scope as the 8-channel 7641 but without channel scanning, so it suits single-DUT benches, incoming inspection, and lower-volume lines. Where a line tests multiple windings or multiple units per cycle, the 7641 with 7508A or 7516A scanning boxes is the better fit.
