About Microtest 7641 Hipot Tester (8-Channel)
The Microtest 7641 is the eight-channel member of the 7640 and 7641 safety-tester family, integrating AC withstand voltage, DC withstand voltage and insulation resistance measurement in one instrument. Channel count expands to a maximum of 72 through 7508A and 7516A scanning boxes, which suits transformer, coil and harness lines that route several windings per test cycle.

Choosing Between the 7640 and 7641
Both units run the same three tests to the same voltage and current limits. The difference is routing: the 7640 is single-channel, the 7641 provides eight channels and scales to 72 with expansion boxes. Pick the 7641 when the unit under test has multiple windings or the line tests multiple units per cycle.
