Overview
About J-Link Adapters & Cables

SEGGER offers a comprehensive range of adapters and cables for connecting J-Link debug probes to any target hardware, regardless of connector type or pin configuration. Whether the target uses a standard 20-pin JTAG header, a compact 10-pin Cortex Debug connector, a 19-pin Cortex + Trace connector, or a custom pin layout, there is an adapter in the J-Link ecosystem that bridges the gap, eliminating the need for custom wiring or third-party adapter boards.
Adapter Catalog
The J-Link adapter range covers the most common debug connector standards used across the embedded industry:
| Adapter | Description |
|---|---|
| 19-Pin Cortex-M Adapter | JTAG, SWD, and SWO connections to the 19-pin 0.05” Samtec FTSH header defined by Arm |
| 9-Pin Cortex-M Adapter | JTAG, SWD, and SWO connections to the 9-pin 0.05” Samtec FTSH header (no target power on the 9-pin connector) |
| 50-Mil 10-Pin Patch Adapter | Adapts the standard 20-pin 0.1” connector to the 10-pin 0.05” Cortex-M connector |
| 14-Pin TI Adapter | Adapts the 20-pin output to the Texas Instruments 14-pin 0.1” JTAG connector (JTAG only) |
| 10-Pin and 6-Pin Needle Adapters | High-reliability spring pins for boards without a mating connector or programming header |
| 5V Target Supply Adapter | Supplies 5 V to the target board while passing all debug signals 1:1 |
| Supply Adapter | Provides a fixed VTRef I/O voltage level, configurable from 1.2 V to 5.0 V by swapping a single resistor |
| 20-Pin Ribbon Cable | Replacement 0.1” 20-pin target ribbon cable |
All adapters are designed for the standard J-Link 20-pin output connector and are compatible with J-Link models from the BASE and PLUS through to the PRO and ULTRA, as well as SEGGER’s Flasher production programmers, so adapters bought for development probes carry over to the production line. For programming external SPI flash, no adapter is needed: SEGGER’s J-Flash SPI software drives SPI flashes directly through the standard connector.
