Overview
About J-Link PRO PoE

The J-Link PRO PoE adds Power over Ethernet to the proven J-Link PRO platform, enabling deployment in remote hardware labs, automated test racks, and CI/CD infrastructure using a single Ethernet cable for both power and data. There is no need for a separate USB connection or power adapter, the PoE switch delivers power and network connectivity simultaneously, simplifying cable management in dense test environments where dozens of probes may be installed.
Single-Cable Lab Deployment
In automated test infrastructure, reducing cable count directly improves reliability. Each additional cable is a potential failure point, loose USB connections and power adapter faults are among the most common causes of intermittent test failures in hardware-in-the-loop setups. The J-Link PRO PoE eliminates both by drawing power from the Ethernet switch. Combined with remote debugging over the network, an entire fleet of probes can be managed from a central build server without any local USB connections, making it ideal for rack-mounted test farms and geographically distributed hardware labs.
The J-Link PRO software feature set carries over: download speeds up to 4 MB/s, unlimited flash breakpoints, included licenses for Ozone, J-Flash, and RDI, and support for tens of thousands of devices across Arm Cortex-M, Cortex-A, Cortex-R, and RISC-V architectures. For teams building custom production tooling, the J-Link SDK is licensed separately. The PoE hardware is its own design, larger than the standard PRO, and adds a dedicated USB-A connector that can power the target with up to 1 A when the probe runs on PoE.

J-Link Is Now Validated by ST for StellarStudio
STMicroelectronics has fully validated SEGGER J-Link for StellarStudio, the IDE for its Stellar automotive MCU family, and put the probe into continuous validation at Le Mans. An AI Agent That Drives the Debugger: SEGGER and Embedder Connect J-Link to the Loop
SEGGER has given an AI coding agent direct control of J-Link and J-Trace: flash, breakpoints, memory inspection and live RTT on real silicon. The loop only works if the probe can read target RAM while the core runs, and GSAS field engineers know exactly where that breaks first.
