What’s covered

Connecting ECAD and PLM: Siemens EDA Integration capabilities for libraries, designs, and digital threads is a free Siemens EDA webinar on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 9:30 PM IST, presented by Andre Mosley, Eric Mace, and Scott Claes, covering how Xpedition EDM synchronizes ECAD library and design data with enterprise PLM systems. Registration is free.

Connecting ECAD and PLM: Siemens EDA Integration capabilities for libraries, designs, and digital threads is part of Siemens EDA’s Expert Series. Siemens EDA PLM Integration connects electronic design data with enterprise PLM processes, helping organizations improve collaboration, traceability, and lifecycle control across ECAD, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams. The session introduces Siemens EDA’s ECAD-to-PLM integration strategy, explains how Xpedition EDM enables ECAD data management, and walks through practical library and design integration use cases.

Attendees will see how ECAD library data, part metadata, manufacturing part information, design data, BOMs, and derived documents can be synchronized with PLM systems to support a stronger digital thread, along with common integration scenarios and best practices for aligning ECAD work-in-progress data with enterprise lifecycle processes.

What you will learn:

  • Siemens EDA PLM Integration overview and how it connects ECAD environments with PLM systems
  • ECAD and PLM support across Xpedition EDM and Xpedition Enterprise design flows with enterprise PLM systems
  • Library integration use cases, including part metadata, attributes, AML/MFGPN information, and synchronization between ECAD libraries and PLM
  • Design integration use cases, including project creation, save/open workflows, BOM synchronization, derived documents, and metadata alignment
  • How ECAD-to-PLM integration supports traceability, governance, reuse, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and PLM teams

Who should attend

  • ECAD designers and PCB design engineers
  • Xpedition EDM administrators and librarians
  • Component engineering and library management teams
  • PLM administrators, PLM architects, and integration teams
  • Engineering managers and project managers responsible for ECAD/PLM workflows
  • Supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement stakeholders involved in part, BOM, or lifecycle data processes

What is Xpedition EDM?

Xpedition EDM is Siemens EDA’s ECAD data management system for Xpedition Enterprise design environments. It manages ECAD library data, part metadata, design data, BOMs, and derived documents, and synchronizes that data with enterprise PLM systems so libraries, designs, and manufacturing information stay aligned across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams. That synchronization supports a stronger digital thread from ECAD library and design work through to PLM-managed lifecycle processes.

Why GSAS is sharing this

GSAS Micro Systems is the authorized Siemens EDA engineering partner in India across the Xpedition, HyperLynx, and PADS Pro portfolio, formerly Mentor Graphics. Indian PCB design, library management, and PLM integration teams get this ECAD-to-PLM guidance directly from the Siemens EDA engineers who build and support Xpedition EDM.

If your team is planning or troubleshooting an ECAD-to-PLM integration on Xpedition EDM, talk to us about the tools covered in this session.
