About Arm Keil NXP LPC 1857 Evaluation Board

The Arm Keil NXP LPC 1857 Evaluation Board is a ready-to-use development platform for the NXP LPC1857 microcontroller, based on the Arm Cortex-M3 processor running at up to 180 MHz. The board provides a complete hardware environment for evaluating the LPC1857’s features, including Ethernet, USB Host and Device, LCD with touchscreen, and external SDRAM, and comes with example projects for Keil MDK that demonstrate peripheral initialization, middleware integration, and communication stack usage.
Legacy SKU note: this board (historically marketed as the Keil MCB1857) is a Cortex-M3 evaluation platform. For new Cortex-M evaluation, Arm recommends the MPS3 / MPS4 FPGA prototyping platforms with current Cortex-M cores. GSAS continues to support teams already standardised on the MCB1857.
The board includes an on-board debug adapter for out-of-box debugging with Keil MDK, eliminating the need for a separate debug probe for initial evaluation. For advanced debug and trace requirements, the board’s standard 20-pin debug connector supports external probes including ULINKplus and ULINKpro. (ULINK2 is end-of-life, new debug-probe procurement should go to ULINKplus or ULINKpro.) Expansion headers provide access to additional GPIO, SPI, I2C, and UART interfaces.
