Overview
About Binho Nova Multi-Protocol USB Host Adapter
The Binho Nova is an entry-level multi-protocol USB host adapter that covers the widest range of embedded serial buses in a single instrument. I2C runs up to 3.4 MHz (High-Speed mode), SPI up to 12 MHz, UART up to 1 Mbps, and the Nova also supports 1-Wire and SWI (Single Wire Interface) protocols that many competing adapters omit. Five GPIO pins with ADC and DAC capability add basic analog measurement and signal generation, useful for reading thermistor voltages, driving test signals, or toggling power rails during firmware development.

The Nova is the starting point for embedded teams that need a single USB tool for sensor bring-up, EEPROM programming, UART console access, and basic analog measurement on the same board. It shares the same cross-platform software ecosystem (Windows, macOS, Linux) as the Supernova and Pulsar, and scripts written for the Nova’s I2C and SPI interfaces are directly portable to the higher-performance models. For teams scaling from prototype debugging to production test, the Nova provides a cost-effective entry into the Binho ecosystem.
