The Microtest MT-6910 Motor Stator Test System is a dedicated multi-channel test platform for comprehensive electrical verification of motor stators during production. Available in three channel configurations — the MT-6910 (8 channels), MT-6913 (13 channels), and MT-6917 (17 channels) — the system tests winding resistance, hipot withstand, surge comparison, inductance, and insulation resistance across all stator windings in a single automated test cycle.

EV Motor Production

The MT-6910 series addresses this need with electronic channel multiplexing that routes test signals to each winding group without manual reconnection. A typical EV traction motor stator test cycle measures winding resistance on all phases, applies surge test voltage for turn-to-turn insulation verification, performs hipot between phases and phase-to-frame, and measures inductance for winding symmetry — all in a single automated sequence lasting seconds.
Surge comparison testing is the critical test for detecting shorted turns that DC resistance and inductance measurements cannot reliably find. The system applies a controlled impulse voltage to each winding and compares the resulting damped oscillation waveform against a reference. Even a single shorted turn produces a detectable frequency shift and area change in the surge waveform, catching defects that would cause motor overheating and premature failure in the field.
BLDC Motor Testing
Brushless DC motor production for industrial automation, home appliances, power tools, and automotive auxiliary systems requires verification of all stator windings before rotor assembly. The MT-6910 series tests phase resistance balance, inter-phase insulation, phase-to-frame hipot, and surge integrity across all coil groups.
