RYUW122

The REYAX RYUW122 is an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) module implementing IEEE 802.15.4z for centimeter-level indoor positioning and secure distance measurement. Unlike GPS, which cannot penetrate buildings, or Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, which offer only room-level accuracy, UWB provides +/- 10 cm positioning precision indoors using time-of-flight ranging between anchors and tags. The RYUW122 supports both Two-Way Ranging (TWR) for point-to-point distance measurement and Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA) for scalable multi-tag positioning systems.

IEEE 802.15.4z adds secure ranging through Scrambled Timestamp Sequences (STS), preventing relay attacks and distance spoofing, a critical requirement for access control, contactless payment proximity verification, and secure vehicle entry applications. The AT command interface over UART provides the same ease of integration as Reyax’s LoRa modules, enabling hardware teams to add centimeter-accurate positioning without developing custom UWB firmware. A development kit is available for rapid prototyping and system-level evaluation before production integration.
