About SPI Development Kit

The SPI Development Kit bundles everything needed for high-speed SPI bus development and debugging: a Cheetah SPI Host Adapter for gap-free SPI master communication at speeds exceeding 40 MHz, a Beagle I2C/SPI Protocol Analyzer for passive bus monitoring at up to 24 MHz, a High-Speed SPI Flash Demo Board with a known-good Winbond W25Q32JV flash target, all necessary cables, and the complete Total Phase software suite.

Why the Kit

The SPI Development Kit enables the same dual-instrument workflow as the I2C Development Kit, optimized for SPI: the Cheetah drives SPI transactions at production speeds (40+ MHz with gap-free pipelined transfers) while the Beagle passively captures every SPI transaction on the bus, clock, MOSI, MISO, and chip select, with 20 ns timing resolution.

This is particularly valuable for SPI flash programming validation: the Cheetah programs the flash device via Flash Center, and the Beagle simultaneously captures every SPI command (Write Enable, Page Program, Read Status Register) to verify correct command sequencing and timing. If a flash programming operation fails intermittently, the Beagle’s capture reveals whether the issue is command timing, write protection status, or device busy polling.
