About PicoLog TC-08

The PicoLog TC-08 from Pico Technology is an 8-channel USB thermocouple data logger that connects directly to a PC and records up to eight thermocouples at once, plus a ninth ambient channel from its built-in cold junction compensation (CJC) sensor. It supports all commonly used thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T) at 20-bit resolution, measures from −270 °C to +1820 °C depending on the thermocouple, and draws all its power over USB, so no external supply is needed. With free PicoLog 6 / PicoLog Cloud software and a free SDK, it is a low-cost, high-resolution temperature data logger for thermal validation, process monitoring and environmental testing.

PicoLog TC-08 8-channel USB thermocouple data logger available in India from GSAS Micro Systems, authorized Pico Technology engineering partner

An 8-channel thermocouple data logger that scales to 160 channels

Each of the eight miniature thermocouple connectors accepts standard thermocouple plugs, so existing sensors connect without adaptors or custom wiring. A single TC-08 logs 8 thermocouples + CJC, and you can run up to 20 TC-08 units on one PC for a maximum of 160 thermocouple channels: all controlled from one PicoLog 6 interface and viewable on up to four independent Y-axes. That makes the TC-08 a practical 8-channel data logger for small benches that needs to grow into a large thermal-validation rig without changing software or workflow.

Fast, high-resolution temperature data logging

The short conversion time, 100 ms per thermocouple channel plus 100 ms for CJC: lets the TC-08 take up to 10 temperature measurements per second, while the 20-bit resolution (16.25-bit noise-free) detects minute temperature changes. For Type K thermocouples it maintains better than 0.025 °C resolution over a −250 to +1370 °C range. Temperature accuracy is the sum of ±0.2% of reading and ±0.5 °C, and voltage accuracy is the sum of ±0.2% of reading and ±10 µV, quoted over a 20 to 30 °C ambient, making this a genuinely high-accuracy temperature data logger rather than a basic recorder.

Free PicoLog 6 and PicoLog Cloud software

PicoLog 6 is a complete, free data-acquisition package for the TC-08 with real-time graphing, configurable alarms (threshold, disconnection or custom logic expressions), math channels, and export to CSV or PDF, running on Windows, macOS, Linux and Raspberry Pi OS. PicoLog Cloud adds free streaming of live captures to a secure online store, so you can view and export data from any browser or smartphone anywhere in the world. The free PicoSDK lets engineering teams build custom interfaces in C, C++, C# and Visual Basic .NET, with example code for Excel, LabVIEW and MATLAB. There are no per-channel or licensing fees, and technical support and software updates are free for the life of the product.

Applications

The TC-08’s eight channels, wide thermocouple range and high resolution suit it to:

  • Thermal validation and characterisation: multi-point temperature profiling of PCBs, enclosures and assemblies during design verification.
  • Oven, reflow and furnace profiling: capturing fast thermal transients across multiple zones with up to 10 readings per second.
  • Environmental chamber and HALT/HASS monitoring: logging chamber and DUT temperatures over long soak tests.
  • HVAC and refrigeration system monitoring: multi-channel temperature logging for performance and energy studies.
  • Process and plant temperature monitoring: scalable to 160 channels for larger rigs by running up to 20 units on one PC.

Common questions about PicoLog TC-08

How much does the PicoLog TC-08 cost in India?
The PicoLog TC-08 data logger price in India depends on the unit quantity, the thermocouples you pair with it (Pico SE-series probes are ordered separately) and any optional single-channel terminal board. As the authorized Pico Technology engineering partner in India, GSAS Micro Systems provides current INR pricing, GST-compliant quotations, thermocouple selection guidance, calibration with maintained traceability and local demonstrations. Request a quote with your channel count and thermocouple types for an accurate India price.
How many channels does the PicoLog TC-08 have, and can I add more?
