Overview
About PicoLog CM3
The PicoLog CM3 from Pico Technology is a 3-channel current data logger designed for non-invasive AC current monitoring using industry-standard clamp-on current transducers. With three input channels matched to single-phase or three-phase power systems, USB and Ethernet connectivity, and the PicoLog 6 software platform, the CM3 provides a straightforward path to long-term current monitoring without breaking circuits or installing shunt resistors. The CM3 kit includes three 200 A AC current clamps, covering the majority of commercial and industrial monitoring applications out of the box, with higher-rated clamps available for heavy-current installations.

| Scalability | Multiple units per PC (up to 60 channels combined) |
| External Power | Not required (USB or PoE powered) |
The clamp-on measurement approach is the CM3’s primary advantage for facility and industrial monitoring: current clamps open around existing conductors and close to measure current flow via magnetic coupling, requiring no electrical contact with the circuit and no downtime to install. This makes the CM3 practical for retrofit energy monitoring on existing switchboards, temporary load profiling on production equipment, and ongoing consumption tracking for energy management systems. The three-channel design captures all three phases simultaneously, enabling balanced/unbalanced load analysis and per-phase power profiling.

USB and Ethernet dual connectivity, with Power over Ethernet support, allows the CM3 to be deployed either at a local workstation or remotely in electrical cabinets with only a PoE Ethernet connection. PicoLog 6 handles data acquisition, graphing, and CSV export, while PicoLog Cloud provides browser-based remote access to live and historical data. Multiple CM3 units can operate on a single PC, scaling up to 60 channels when combined with other Pico data loggers. GSAS Micro Systems supplies the PicoLog CM3 with current clamp selection guidance for energy monitoring and industrial power quality applications across India.
