RTOS Development
From SEGGER embOS integration to Keil RTX migration and safety-certified kernel deployment, GSAS delivers real-time operating system engineering for embedded products across India.
What We Ship
RTOS Engineering Services in India
Six RTOS disciplines covering kernel selection, integration, debug, safety certification, and training, backed by our authorised SEGGER and Arm partnerships.
RTOS Selection and Architecture
Choosing the right RTOS is a long-lived architectural decision that affects timing determinism, memory footprint, toolchain licensing, and long-term maintenance. GSAS engineers evaluate your device constraints, MCU class, RAM budget, safety certification needs, middleware stack, and recommend SEGGER embOS, Keil RTX, FreeRTOS, or Zephyr. We document the trade-offs for your team so the decision is defensible through lifecycle reviews.
- Kernel selection matrix against your MCU and memory budget
- Safety certification alignment (IEC 61508, ISO 26262, DO-178C)
- Toolchain and middleware compatibility evaluation
- Migration path planning from bare-metal to RTOS
- Architecture reviews for existing RTOS-based products
SEGGER embOS Integration
SEGGER embOS is a royalty-free priority-controlled RTOS designed for resource-constrained embedded systems. GSAS is the authorised SEGGER partner in India and delivers turn-key embOS integration, from BSP configuration and interrupt priority mapping to middleware stack enablement (emFile, emUSB, emNet, emWin). Our engineers have shipped embOS into automotive, medical, industrial, and consumer products across India.
- embOS BSP development for custom boards
- Interrupt priority planning and zero-latency ISRs
- emFile, emUSB, emNet, emWin middleware integration
- Power-management hooks for battery-operated devices
- SystemView RTOS tracing and debug workflows
Keil RTX and CMSIS-RTOS
Keil RTX is the reference CMSIS-RTOS implementation bundled with Arm Keil MDK. For teams building on Cortex-M and Cortex-R with the Keil toolchain, RTX provides a familiar, well-integrated RTOS with the full benefit of µVision debug, Event Recorder, and Keil Studio Cloud. GSAS is the Arm authorised partner in India and supports Keil MDK licensing, RTX migration, and CMSIS-RTOS API refactoring.
- Keil MDK + RTX setup and licensing for Indian teams
- CMSIS-RTOS v2 API migration from v1 and legacy kernels
- Event Recorder configuration for RTOS trace and debug
- µVision debug view and RTOS-aware breakpoints
- RTOS object inspection and thread state analysis
RTOS-Aware Debug and Tracing
Debugging an RTOS-based application requires tooling that understands scheduler state, task priorities, and inter-task communication. GSAS deploys SEGGER J-Link with RTOS awareness, SystemView for zero-instrumentation tracing, and Keil µVision RTX views for thread-level breakpoints. We set up your debug workflow so engineers can visualise which task ran when, where priority inversions occurred, and why deadlines were missed.
- J-Link RTOS awareness setup for FreeRTOS, embOS, RTX
- SEGGER SystemView event tracing and timeline visualisation
- µVision RTX View configuration and thread inspection
- Stack overflow detection and heap monitoring
- Scheduling latency measurement and deadline analysis
Safety-Certified RTOS Deployment
Safety-critical products, automotive brake controllers, medical infusion pumps, industrial safety controllers, avionics LRUs, require certified RTOS kernels. GSAS supports deployment of SEGGER embOS Safety (IEC 61508 SIL3, ISO 26262 ASIL-D, IEC 62304 Class C), Keil RTX (via third-party pre-certification kits), and documentation package preparation for your safety case.
- SEGGER embOS Safety qualification kit integration
- ISO 26262 ASIL-D evidence preparation for automotive ECUs
- IEC 62304 Class C documentation for medical devices
- DO-178C Level A/B RTOS configuration for avionics
- Freedom-from-interference analysis for mixed-criticality systems
RTOS Training and Workshops
GSAS delivers on-site RTOS training workshops tailored to your team and your hardware. Topics range from introductory multitasking concepts and priority-based scheduling through advanced inter-task communication, interrupt design, and RTOS debugging. Workshops use your actual hardware and your actual codebase, not generic examples, so engineers leave ready to ship.
- RTOS fundamentals: tasks, priorities, synchronisation primitives
- Advanced topics: priority inversion, deadlock, memory protection
- Hands-on debugging with J-Link + SystemView on your boards
- Kernel selection workshops for greenfield projects
- Code review workshops for existing RTOS-based products
