Overview
About Saleae Logic MSO 2×100
The Saleae Logic MSO 2×100 is the entry tier of the Logic MSO mixed-signal oscilloscope line, 2 analog channels at 100 MHz bandwidth, 1.0 GS/s analog sampling, calculated rise time 3.5 ns. 8 digital channels at 1.0 GS/s, expandable to 20 channels via Digital Probes.

The 2×100 is the right tool when a single SoC reset rail and a single bus need to come up together on the same screen, IoT sensor-node bring-up, single-rail switching regulator debug, or audio codec bring-up where one analog channel watches the rail and another watches the audio output. Standard variant: 9-bit ADC, 100 M sample points per channel. Pro variant: 12-bit ADC (4 µV/LSB), 1 B sample points per channel, the latter changes what’s catchable on a single trigger from “fast events” to “fast events plus 10-second drift”. Indian embedded teams in Bengaluru and Hyderabad running iterative bring-up cycles will recognise that difference.
The MSO 2×100 hosts over USB-C 3.0 with USB-PD power and runs the same Logic 2 software as every other Saleae device, 23 built-in protocol analyzers plus 50+ community-shared decoders (about 70+ in total), free across Windows / macOS / Linux, Python Automation API, and the HLA framework.
In the box
Every Saleae Logic MSO 2×100 kit ships with:
- MSO 2×100 pod (Standard or Pro variant, same hardware, software-unlocked memory/resolution)
- 2× 10:1 passive analog scope probes (100 MHz, for the 2 SMB analog inputs)
- 2× Digital Probes (8 digital channels total, expandable to 20 channels with additional Digital Probe orders)
- USB-C smart cable (pod → PC)
- USB-C PD power adapter
- Carrying case
- Quick-start documentation
Standard vs Pro: which variant?
The 2×100 hardware is identical across Standard and Pro; firmware enables higher analog resolution and deeper sample memory on Pro.
| Standard | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Analog vertical resolution | 9-bit | 12-bit (4 µV/LSB) |
| Analog sample memory | 100 M-sample / channel | 1 B-sample / channel |
| Digital channels (built-in) | 8 (expandable to 20) | 8 (expandable to 20) |
| Analog channels | 2 × 100 MHz | 2 × 100 MHz |
| Sample rate (analog) | 1.0 GS/s | 1.0 GS/s |
| Typical fit | IoT bring-up, single-rail regulator debug, audio-codec bring-up | Multi-second captures, drift / settling analysis, deeper trigger windows |
| Upgrade path | Software upgrade Std → Pro on the same hardware (contact GSAS for the licence) | - |
Pro turns the 2×100 from “fast events” into “fast events plus 10-second drift”, the difference matters if you’re chasing intermittent rail bounce or characterising start-up sequences. If you’re doing routine 2-channel mixed-signal debug, Standard is the value pick.
