About Saleae Logic MSO 4×100

The Saleae Logic MSO 4×100 is the middle option in the new Logic MSO line, 4 analog channels at 100 MHz bandwidth, 1.0 GS/s analog sampling, calculated rise time 3.5 ns. 8 digital channels at 1.0 GS/s, expandable to 20 digital channels via Digital Probes.

Saleae Logic MSO 4×100-100 MHz 4-channel mixed-signal oscilloscope, available in India from GSAS

Saleae Logic MSO 4×100 in-box contents, four analog probes plus two 4-channel digital probes (expandable to 20 channels), available in India from GSAS

The 4×100 is the right pick when 200 MHz is more bandwidth than your design genuinely needs, but two analog channels is too few for full mixed-signal coverage of a four-rail board. Common fit for industrial-automation control boards, EV charger boards, and audio / I²S debug benches across Indian engineering teams in Pune and Mumbai. Standard variant: 9-bit ADC, 100 M sample points per channel. Pro variant: 12-bit ADC, 1 B sample points per channel, orders of magnitude more memory for long-duration captures.

The MSO 4×100 hosts over USB-C 3.0 with USB-PD power and runs the same Logic 2 software as every other Saleae device, 23 built-in protocol analyzers plus 50+ community-shared decoders (about 70+ in total), free across Windows / macOS / Linux, Python Automation API, and the HLA framework for custom decoders.

In the box

Every Saleae Logic MSO 4×100 kit ships with:

  • MSO 4×100 pod (Standard or Pro variant, same hardware, software-unlocked memory/resolution)
  • 4× 10:1 passive analog scope probes (100 MHz, for the 4 SMB analog inputs)
  • 2× Digital Probes (8 digital channels total, expandable to 20 channels with additional Digital Probe orders)
  • USB-C smart cable (pod → PC)
  • USB-C PD power adapter
  • Carrying case
  • Quick-start documentation

Standard vs Pro: which variant?

The 4×100 hardware is identical across Standard and Pro; firmware enables higher analog resolution and deeper sample memory on Pro.

Upgrade pathSoftware upgrade Std → Pro on the same hardware (contact GSAS for the licence)-

Choose Pro if you need deep capture memory for long-duration regression runs or 12-bit analog precision; choose Standard if 100 MHz / 9-bit covers your daily debug and budget matters.

Common questions about Saleae Logic MSO 4×100

Standard vs Pro on the MSO 4×100, what's the difference?
Same hardware. Pro unlocks 12-bit analog (vs 9-bit on Standard) and 1 B-sample per channel memory (vs 100 M-sample). Standard for everyday debug, Pro for long-run captures, drift / settling analysis, multi-rail PDN characterisation, or compliance evidence. Software upgrade Std → Pro on the same hardware via licence purchase through GSAS.
When should I choose the 4×100 over the 4×200?
When 100 MHz analog bandwidth covers your designs. The MSO 4×100 is the right fit for industrial-control bring-up, EV charger boards, audio / I²S debug, and most general-purpose mixed-signal work. Step up to the [MSO 4×200](/products/saleae/saleae-logic-mso-4x200) when you need to capture 200+ MHz analog content, typically DDR margin captures, high-speed serial bring-up, or 1 GHz+ digital edges where you want clean analog reconstruction.
Will it replace my benchtop oscilloscope?
For embedded debug under 100 MHz analog, yes, the 4-channel mixed-signal coverage plus 8 digital channels (expandable to 20) is more capability than most benchtop scopes for the same money. Above 100 MHz analog, or for RF / high-speed serial above ~500 MHz, you still want a dedicated higher-bandwidth scope.
What's in the box?
MSO 4×100 pod, 4× 10:1 passive analog scope probes (100 MHz), 2× Digital Probes (8 digital channels total, expandable to 20 with additional probe orders), USB-C smart cable, USB-PD power adapter, carrying case, and quick-start documentation. Logic 2 software is free.
Can the MSO 4×100 be driven from CI/CD scripts?
Yes. Saleae's Python Automation API drives capture, decode, export, and `.sal` diff. GSAS engineering helps India teams land headless CI captures on a bench Raspberry Pi or x86 mini-PC.
