In short
Xpedition 2610, released by Siemens in October 2026, introduces an Xpedition Advanced tier for small enterprise companies, encrypts traffic between design tools and project services, adds batch verification and HTML reporting to Xpedition MBE, embeds PartQuest search in EDM, and speeds up plane generation in Layout by up to 10x.
Siemens announced Xpedition 2610 on 26 October 2026. Where 2604 was a long list of workflow fixes, 2610 has three clear themes: a new tier in the portfolio, security across the multi-user design environment, and verification that lives inside enterprise data management (EDM) instead of beside it. Layout also gets a large performance gain on power-dense boards.
This post walks through the release area by area, based on Siemens’ own release article, linked under References. For the companion releases, see HyperLynx 2610 and Valor NPI 2610.

Portfolio, UX and security
Xpedition Advanced. Siemens has been building a scalable portfolio so teams can move up as their design, process and organisational complexity grows. 2610 introduces Xpedition Advanced, which Siemens says is tuned to the needs of small enterprise companies. It sits alongside Xpedition Standard and Xpedition Enterprise. If you are deciding which tier fits your team, talk to us before you size licences.
Application bar. The application bar is reworked to match Siemens’ design standards, which frees toolbar space for command access on standard displays.
Encryption in transit. All communication between the design authoring tools, project management services and concurrent multi-user workflows, including forward and backward annotation and packaging, is now fully encrypted in transit. Siemens positions this as aligning Xpedition with secure-by-design practice. For Indian teams working on export-controlled or customer-confidential designs across several sites, this is the change to note for your security review.
Systems design: Xpedition MBE
Xpedition Model-Based Engineering (MBE) gets five improvements aimed at traceability from requirement to net:
- Batch verification and regression testing. Run several or all verification tasks in batch mode, so regressions can be checked across design variants.
- Digital verification records. A single verification task can run a whole simulation suite, and MBE generates traceable records mapped from requirement targets to individual nets.
- Reusable verification templates for protocols such as DDR4, PCIe and SerDes, to speed up the start of the next project.
- Interactive HTML reports of verification outcomes, for faster triage and sign-off reviews.
- Redesigned Signal Manager for multi-board systems, which Siemens says reduces false positives when hardware engineers validate cross-board connectivity.
Design capture
- A semi-automated setup wizard standardises design environments and speeds up onboarding of new designers.
- Cross-probing between schematic and layout no longer freezes when complex nets are selected in Layout.
- Constraint import can search EDM projects by name or metadata, or import known-good constraints from an existing project even without an EDM deployment.
Library and data management
- PartQuest search inside EDM. The PartQuest plug-in is integrated directly, so designers can search manufacturer parts with supplier facets and parametric filters without leaving EDM.
- Supply chain and compliance data. Real-time availability, logistics and manufacturer environmental and compliance documents are visible in EDM Web and the component detail views.
- Parasolid 3D. Legacy PADS Pro 3D models are converted to Parasolid when a central library opens them, so 3D content is consistent across Xpedition Standard and Advanced.
- Cell Editor and Footprint Expert. Padstacks can be created or modified and design units switched without closing the Cell Editor, and Footprint Expert adds padstack geometries such as chamfered square through-holes.
PCB layout
The headline numbers in 2610 are in Layout, on dense designs with thousands of overlapping power rail shapes. Siemens states:
| Operation | 2610 improvement (Siemens) |
|---|---|
| Plane generation | Up to 10x faster |
| Board load time | Up to 1.8x faster |
| Physical reuse updates | Up to 2.3x faster |
Interactive plowing and via insertion through power planes are also smoother. These are Siemens’ figures for dense, power-heavy designs.
Three other Layout changes:
- ECAD-MCAD baselines. Better IDX file and UID tracking makes baseline comparisons reliable when collaborating with Siemens Designcenter, which speeds up mechanical exchange on large designs with nested reuse blocks.
- Logical-to-physical block mapping. One logical managed block in the schematic can map to several physical reuse layouts, so the same circuit can fit different board form factors.
- Creepage review. Batch creepage analysis lets engineers review, accept and audit clearance violations, with timestamps and comments, inside Hazard Explorer. For the creepage checks introduced in 2604, see our 2604 post.
Verification inside the design flow
2610 brings three verification tools into the EDM-managed flow:
- Valor NPI DFM runs from EDM in a revamped, AI-assisted verification workspace, with results reviewed in Hazard Explorer under full revision control. Our Valor NPI 2610 post covers this in detail.
- HyperLynx Schematic Analysis runs in EDM-managed workflows, with violations traced across revisions, grouped by severity (critical, defect, warning) and cross-probed back into Designer.
- Design-level DC drop analysis results, with simulation status and pass/fail, can be reviewed through EDM.
